01about

What is LUMINA?

LUMINA is the acronym for the LGBTQ+, Underrepresented, Minority & Independent Narratives Archive. In Latin "Lumina" means "lights" and it is a double word play; it refers to the light, which is essential in cinematography, as well as the shedding of light on the work of vulnerable groups in audiovisual works.

LUMINA is the database for Films from the LGBTQ+, Underrepresented, Minority & Independent Narratives Archive. It contains records of films that were created by underrepresented groups or deal with such subjects. It is completely free to use and participate.
